Kids Matter!!!

 " Whether around the world or around the Block... Kids Matter!!!"

Joe King, President and CEO of Kids Matter International, met with the Metroport Rotary, to share the life changing projects of this Texas based charitable organization.  Mr. King, recognized as a national leader in the areas of volunteer management, sports marketing, corporate fundraising, cause-related marketing, and government and public relations, has a long and distinguished career in non-profit management.

Mr. King explained that Kids Matter, founded in June of 2006, began when four men saw a need.  Since its inception, they have funded a school within an orphanage in Guatemala.  Through the efforts of Kids Matter, the school has the largest library in Guatemala.  Due to innovative management techniques, it has been opened to the public as a private school charging tuition.  The tuition of those students, allows the school operate as a self-sufficient entity.

Recognizing a domestic need as well, the name was changed to Kids Matter International.  The Mission of this organization is:

To bring healing to orphaned, abandoned or disadvantaged children by providing an environment where they can grow stronger emotionally and physically.  So that they may become healthy adults and productive citizens of their nations.

There motto is, " Whether around the world or around the Block... Kids Matter!!!"

Keeping this motto in mind, Kids Matter International supports projects including an orphanage in India.  Recently they have began working with government officials to create a multi-purpose center on the Island of Roatan, Honduras, which will be a safe haven for young girls pulling them out of the life of sex trafficking.  It is their desire to see these young girls protected, educated, and given the opportunity for a future.
