METROPORT CHARITIES

 

Metroport Rotary Charities ("Charities") is a 501(c)(3) non-profit operated by the Metroport Rotary Club of Southlake.  WineDiscoveryTM is our premier fundraiser.

 
Since its founding in 2007, Charities has invested more than $250,000 to promote peace, leadership, and the ideals of "service above self" in our local and international communities.  The primary vehicles of investment are:
Scholarships for local high school graduates
Community grants to local non-profits
International grants in partnership with fellow Rotarians around the globe
 
What is WineDiscovery?
WineDiscovery is the premier wine and food tasting event in the greater Southlake community.  Since the inaugural event in 2005, it has attracted food and wine connoisseurs from the entire DFW metroplex.  WineDiscovery features fine wines from around the globe and fine foods from our own back yard.  When combined with great music and great friends it becomes an unmatched experience for all.
 
How is Charities staffed and managed?
100% of your contribution is put to work in the world.  Charities is staffed and managed fully by Metroport Rotarians who offer their talents and leadership at no cost.
 
How does Charities determine how to direct donations?
Our members are active in our local schools and communities.  They carefully select service projects, community organizations and young leaders that exemplify Rotary's ideals and mission.  Your donation will further our efforts to promote young leaders and service in our community.
 
What impact can one donation have?
You can inspire a future leader.  Providing the means for a service-minded student to get a higher education can help that student end the cycle of poverty in their family and inspire them to give back to their community.
